What do we offer?
Our Asylum Children is an association whose purpose it is to ensure the well-being and development of asylum children by offering legal advice, contact persons/family treatment and looking after the interests of asylum children politically.
The association’s unique approach has resulted in 95% of our children and families at risk of deportation receiving residence permits and ensuring the children’s well-being and development via family treatment and contact person arrangements, so that no further measures or placements have been necessary.
The association also collaborates with the country’s municipalities, immigration lawyers and other actors.
The association has three areas of action
Political safeguarding of the interests of asylum children
Cross-organizational efforts to improve the rights and conditions of asylum children in Denmark (citizens’ proposals, campaigns, etc.)
Legal counselling
Advice in relation to asylum and residence cases (process, progress and options)
Help in preparing for an interview with the immigration authorities
Support during the entire process (participating as co-chair, in the Refugee Board, etc.)
Representation in 9.C cases

Assistants for families and children/young people who are in contact with the municipality.
Party representative for families and

Services
All our services are also aimed at asylum-seeking children, young people (including unaccompanied) and families, as well as children, young people and families who have been granted a residence permit in Denmark. We have insight into working with people from the Middle East, Africa, the Balkan countries and the Eastern European countries.

Legal counselling
- Representation in §9.C 1.1 and §9.C.1.2 of the Immigration Act
- Legal advice in involvement cases for municipalities/other actors and asylum seekers
- Legal guidance for asylum centres, children’s centres, municipalities and places of residence, etc., on asylum legal practice and trends and on the Immigration Act, as well as assisting in specific cases with children. (unaccompanied children/young people and children in families seeking asylum or other residence permit.)
- Assistants for families and children/young people who are in contact with the municipality.
- Party representative for families and children/young people who are in contact with the municipality.
Courses and supervision
- Course in interdisciplinary work – when the cases overlap with the Service and Immigration Act
- Course in the Immigration Act and asylum law practice.
- Advice/courses for asylum families + families with recent residence, about child-rearing in Denmark, cultural differences, the role of the municipality, the importance of trauma etc.
- Supervision/course for asylum centres, children’s centres, municipalities and residences etc. Among other things, in relation to cross-cultural work, including on honor codes, child rearing and insight into the shaped individual from the Middle East
We also offer contact persons who:
- Supports the child’s well-being (language stimuli, help in learning basic skills, etc.)
- Acts as a caregiver for the child during the process and if the child is deported
- Family treatment
